Riley's First Day of Preschool

Wow! I can't believe my little girl is old enough to go to three year old preschool already. It was a little tough for me to leave her at the elementary school today but her and I got through it. She was very happy that her Daddy was able to go to her first day of school with us. That made it easier on all of us because she needed a little convincing to stay at school without us. That broke my heart but Daddy helped her through it. Her teacher said that she only cried two or three minutes and then did great. I just hope Thursday is better because I will have to take her by myself then. I just hope she remembers all the fun she had and wants to go back to school. She was so excited when I picked her up because she wanted to show me the picture she colored. I think she always watched her brothers bring pictures and papers home and so that was cool to her for her to be able to do that now. Here's hoping for a great year for Riley.

Back to School

Today was Jordan and Zach's first day back to school. And this is Jordan's first year over at the middle school. I don't think they consider them middle schoolers yet, but the fifth grade is over in Lytton so there is more space for the PreK thru 4th. They also have three preschool classes in the elementary, that is where Riley will go for her preschool. Jordan gets to ride the bus everyday now to get over to Lytton and he thinks that is really cool. I'm sure that excitement will wear off soon enough. I am kind of happy school is back on, it gives the kids something to fill their time with now. Towards the end of their summer, they were very bored and so now they can't say that anymore. Not only will school take up their time, but football will as well.

I will be curious to find out how the high school kids are able to park at the high school tomorrow. The whole west side parking lot is under water from this past weeks rainfall. We have at the very least 10+ inches by now and it is still coming. There are even some schools around here canceling because of flooding and Manson is one of them. Crazy. We are thankful though, no water in our basement. The storm drains seem to be keeping up with the rain. That is how it came up in our basement a few years ago, it came up through our drains. A lot of other places have it a lot worse and I hope for them the rain will end soon.

No Words to Describe it

When Riley got a princess crown and earrings for her birthday to wear, Gavin thought that the earrings should be his. He was so happy when we put them on him and he didn't want them off. Curt, to say the least, was not so happy at the fact his son wanted to wear the earrings so badly. My thought on it all is that I would rather have him get in touch with his feminine side now than say in 15-20 years. Then we have something to worry about. He is just cute playing around like this now.

Happy Birthday, Riley!!!

Today Riley turned three years old, and we called it her princess day. She even had a crown to wear and everything. Hey, I have to have fun with her birthdays because I only have one girl. I would have to say her favorite present is her Dora bike we got her. We haven't taken it outside yet, so she is riding it in the house for now. She seems perfectly content with doing that. Her other favorite gifts are her Dora viewfinder, her Barbie and her Barbie cheerleading outfit. Not only does Riley turn three years old this month, but she is also going to three year old preschool on the 27th of this month. She is so excited for it. She asks almost everyday if she can go to school now. I hope she keeps this enthusiasm when the day actually gets here.

Hope you all have a great week!!

Worlds of Fun!!!

The name says it all, Worlds of Fun was exactly that. We all had such a great time there and it made it more enjoyable to go with friends. The kids always had someone to ride with and the adults could ride all the rides they wanted to since there was enough of us there to watch the kids who didn't ride the scary rides. I have to say though that the Mamba is still the best ride there. None of the new rides can beat that one yet, even the Patriot. Your seat may suspend from the track on the Partriot and go around loops and cork screws but nothing can beat the 205 foot, 75 mph drop of the Mamba. The kids were so good for us and seemed to have a wonderful time. I would have to say that the sea dragon (a ride that swings back and forth) and the viking voyager(a water ride) were the favorites of the kids. Hopefully it won't be too long before we can go back there, maybe when Gavin is a couple of years older would be a perfect time. Thanks Brad, Trish, Kori and Brandon for inviting us along on your trip to WOF, we had a great time.
