Happy Halloween

Last night was our trick or treat night so I took three of the kids out on the town. Jordan stayed home with Curt to help hand out candy. He wanted to scare the kids that came to our house. That didn't last long though once his friend stopped by and asked him to go around with him so Jordan took off and did his own trick or treating. This was Gavin's first year for it and I think he had fun. It tuckered him out though and he was sleeping by the time we were half way through so I ended up taking him home and he helped Curt. He was so cute in his outfit and he really liked it, I thought he would hate having his hood up by he proved me wrong. Riley was a witch and absolutely loved trick or treating. She went the whole two hours and didn't want to stop. She even got to dress up for school today so that was cool for her. Zach costume was pretty neat too because where his ribs are showing he could pump fake blood through them with a hand pump. He liked grossing everyone out with that. It was a fun night but there is way too much candy when you have four kids out collecting.

Read with Me

A couple of days ago, Riley found these Scooby Doo hats in the boys' room and thought she would be cute to put one on. And so she figured if she looked cute and cool in one of these hats Gavin would too, so she woke him up and put a hat on him before he was even out of his crib. Of course Gavin loved it and wanted out to parade around with Riley. Boy were they cute but the cutest thing was when Riley went and got a book and asked Gavin if she could read to him. He loved the idea of it and went right to the recliner and waited for Riley to join him. Riley started to read to him and for some reason she speaks another language when she reads but Gavin seems to understand her and is totally engrossed. It was just so precious I had to capture it on camera. I hope they always keep this close bond between them, it sure makes some great photo ops.

Happy Birthday, Zach!!

We celebrated Zach's birthday this last Sunday. His actual birthday was Friday the 19th. He had a fun, full weekend. First he got to celebrate his birthday at school with his classmates and they all made him a birthday card so he got totally 24 birthday cards on his birthday, not too bad. Curt, Gavin, Riley and I ate with him at school that day also. I think he enjoyed that as well. Then on Saturday, he got to have two friends over to spend the night and had his favorite supper, Pizza Ranch Pizza. Finally on Sunday we had his birthday party and he finally got to open his presents then. He wanted Herky the Hawk on his birthday cake and it turned out really cool. I think his Dad liked it more though. He was pretty bummed when I cut into him. I may have to get one of those for Curt's birthday coming up. All in all it was a busy but fun weekend that we all enjoyed.

Noah from Jeff and Missy's Camera

Everything that Noah was hooked up to. He looks so comfy.
A moment to be remembered forever.
His little hand is holding Jeffs while Jeff is holding his binky. Precious!

Here are a few more pictures of Noah in his early days. These would have been taken not long after he was born but they are different than any of the ones I have. It is nice to be able to see him being held. It still amazes you how small he is. Noah is still doing good. In his eye test though a problem was found I think with his blood vessels and his retina and the doctor told Jeff and Missy that he will probably need eye glasses by the age of 6 months to two years. He will be near sighted. But as Jeff puts it, they are truly blessed that this is the only major medical problem that has popped up with Noah. He is just a tough little stinker.

Flag Football

Finally, here are some pictures of Zach playing flag football. They had a scrimmage today against Manson and I thought that was a great opportunity to take some pictures. He did pretty well but kept getting tackled by this one offensive player on Manson's team. I didn't think there was tackling in a flag football game. Zach got pretty frustrated with it because he wasn't expecting it. He would even get tackled from behind while he was running after someone while he was on defense. I guess it will toughen him up a little. All in all he had a lot of fun and it was a good experience for him.

On the Farm

Since Curt, Jordan, and Zach were at the Iowa game, I decided to take the two little ones to Jeff and Missy's farm to play around a little. Boy, did they have a good time and I guarantee you our day was a lot more fun than Curt's and the boys' (Iowa got beat by Indiana at home). I think Gavin might be a farm boy because he was totally in his element there. He loved to see the pumpkins, the corn, the combine, you name it and he loved it. I will have to be sure to go back out when they have the combine going so Gavin and Riley can get a ride. That is the one thing Riley really wants to do. Last year she was deathly afraid of it but I guess a lot has changed in a year.
