Today was a first for us. The first time we have all gone to an Iowa game together as a family. It was so awesome and the kids did great. We were a little worried about all the walking and the time spent in the stadium for the little two, but it turned out pretty good. It was very hot but just the excitement of being at the game made it all good. And of course Iowa came away with a large victory and all is good in this house this weekend with the Wildcats winning as well last night against Woodbury Central (who was picked to finish second in their district and made the playoffs last year). Curt is one happy fella this weekend. Go HAWKS!!!

Preschool Time!!
Well, it was finally Riley's turn to go to school today. She was so excited and went in the classroom like a trooper. It think it really helped her out that she went last year to three year old preschool. She just didn't have the fear of going into the unknown. Her teacher is great and just absolutely connects with the kids. I hope Riley has a fun year and I can't wait to see what she comes home singing everyday after school. (Today it was the hokey pokey.) Gotta love that!!

School Already?
Wow, where has the summer gone to? I just seemed like it was yesterday that I bought a summer pass to the pool and now it is closed and school has officially begun. Like I told Curt, I am happy but sad that today was the start of a new school year for the boys (Riley starts preschool on Monday). Happy for the fact that they will get some much needed time apart after a whole summer together, but sad that I have to admit to the fact that they are another year older and growing up faster than I want them to. I just hope they had a good summer and that they can be happy with the time we all spent together as a family.

Riley's Birthday
I just realized that I didn't post any pictures from Riley's birthday. She is four years old now, but you would guess that she is much older than that by the way she acts. She had a fun day and got her #1 gift, a scooter. You should see her go on that, a lot of coordination for someone her age. I'm just glad she had a happy birthday and enjoyed all of her gifts. We sure are blessed to have such a wonderful, beautiful little girl named Riley Marie Batta in our lives. Love you.

Layouts of Gavin and Zach
Sorry these pictures aren't very good. I need a studio or something to take my pictures in or even an awesome camera. :) Both of these pictures are from the spring as well. Actually, I think all of the layouts I did recently are from the spring. I will keep posting more in the next couple of weeks or so.

Riley's Friend, the Furry Catapillar
Here is a few pictures of Riley taken a while back. She was fascinated by this little creature and took it around with her everywhere for about an hour and a half until I told her she had to let it go. At first she was afraid of it but then she started to really like it and then she finally started to hold it on a stick and had no fear anymore. But, I will say that she didn't like it crawling on her hand, it kind of creeped her out. I'm not sure what ever happened to her little friend, but at least she has the pictures to remind her of him. :)
