Sectional Swim Meet Results

Jordan's 50 Butterfly (lane 5)

Zach's 50 Breast (lane 7, right side of diving board)

Well, it was a great weekend for the sectional swim meet. Zach did great and even beat his personal time on the breast and the individual medley. On the IM he shaved 3 seconds off of it, that is incredible. We were so very proud of him and you could see him pushing himself to beat his old time. He didn't make it to state in any of his events but came very close in the boys medley relay and missed it by 3 seconds. He would have made it in the boys freestyle relay, but the anchor decided he was going to leave and go to a valentine's party instead. That should have been up to the parents to make sure he was there, too bad for the team who worked so hard for this.

Jordan did a great job as well. He didn't get any personal bests but he did make it to state in 4 of his 5 events. Not too bad for someone who was sick with the flu Thursday and Friday and then he had to swim Saturday. We were so very proud of him as well. The State meet is in Marshalltown March 8th. Good luck Jordan.

Here are the results of Sectionals.

Zach - 5th in boys 200 medley relay, 13th in 50 freestyle, 7th in individual medley relay, tied for 7th in 50 Breast, and 7th in boys freestyle relay

Jordan - 2nd in 50 butterfly, 1st in boys medley relay, 5th in 50 freestyle, 3rd in individual medley, and 2nd in boys freestyle relay

A job well done!!!

Riley's First Performance

How cute is this? Riley finally got to perform one of her dance routines about a week and a half ago before a little kids wrestling meet. (And in case you can't tell, she is the third one from the right.) Their dance instructor was wanting them to show a little of what they have been learning. I would have been happier to go watch them at their dance studio but this was her choice. It was just packed and we had to pay to get in to watch a two minute routine. Besides all of that, Riley did great and looked so cute doing it. This was one of the reason's why I thought it would be great to have a girl. To watch her enjoy all the great girly stuff that she loves to do. Not once did the smile leave her face and she was never nervous to perform, she loved it actually.

Sledding at the 40

Here are the sledding pictures I told you I would post. A few weeks ago, Curt took the kids to the University 40 to go sledding. I let Curt take the camera hoping he would take a few pictures for me and to my surprise he took tons of pictures and they were all great. He isn't one to take pictures all that often and I was so happy with the great pictures he got. I love some of the expressions on their faces whether they are happy, excited, or even a bit tired. They all had a blast and there was only one time that Curt had to help Riley and Gavin get up the hill, otherwise they did it all themselves. I wish I would have gone with them, but unfortunately I picked cleaning the house over loads of fun. I won't make that same mistake twice.
