The boys had their first swim meet on Wednesday and they did pretty good. Jordan got all second place finishes and he always finished behind the same boy from Cherokee. That boy was a pretty good swimmer and Jordan just missed out first place by a second or so almost each time. They both were killing the other kids swimming by at least three body lengths. Zach got 2 firsts, 1 second, 1 third, and 1 fifth place finish. The backstroke was a little hard for him but he fought hard the whole way and we told him he will keep improving on that through the season. Zach was a little nervous at first but got over it as the night went on. We were so proud of the boys. They have never had any formal swim lessons except what Curt and I tought them and this is their first year for swim team. We have always tried to talk them into it in the past but they never wanted to go out. I guess it must have been the year to finally try it out and they love it. And now that they are out for swim team we are finally getting them private lessons to help with their technique for the different swimming styles. It seems to be helping them a lot. Better late than never for lessons.
