Jordan turned 12 yesterday on the 28th of June. It is hard to believe he is only one year from being 13. He has grown up and matured so much in the last year. Sometimes it is almost like a whole new Jordan. I guess it is always hard to ever admit that your child is growing up, I just don't want him to. But, even though he is growing and maturing doesn't mean he has lost his great qualities. He is still kind to others, is very loving, loves his family more than anything in the world, gives the best hugs, he is thoughtful about other people's feelings, has a love for all sports, still has a love for reading and learning, and most of all we get to have this wonderful young man love us every day, a true blessing.

Track and Field Day
Softball throw
100 yard dash
100 yard dash
Mixed 400 yard relay
tug of war
75 yard dash
three legged race
obstacle course
football throw
long jump
potato sack race
Here are the last of the school pictures for the 2008-2009 school year. Track and field day was fun as always. This was Jordan's last year for it. He doesn't get to do as many things as the elementary, but it was fun to watch him all the same. You can see up above under the pictures what they competed in. Zach's is definitely a fun day and Jordan's is more competitive, at least the kids get more competitive with each other. I think all the kids care is that they get out of a half a day of school to do this. That is always fun!!

Riley's Dance Recital
Hi again. Sorry this is so late getting to you. I know it has been a month since Riley's recital, but at least you still get to see the pictures, right? She was such a cutie for this recital. And I think she did pretty good for her first one. And if you notice in the pictures, she is one of the only ones sometimes that is following what the teacher is doing. She seemed to know her stuff pretty well and was smiling like a pro the whole time. It was so cute at the beginning of the show when the teacher brought them out to introduce them. Riley kept looking at me and when they were supposed to be walking off, she gives me the rock on sign and just stands there forever while all the other little girls have walked off stage. Riley is just there alone, smiling huge, and not bashful at all doing her rock on. Of course I did the rock on sign back and she loved it. And then she finally left the stage. I wish you all could see it because it was a lot cuter in person.

Jordan's Spring Concert
First of all, sorry for the bad pictures. Again, I hate taking pictures in a gym. I am not camera savy to take a good picture in this kind of a setting. And the modes I do have to take better pictures you have to be very still. I never bring along a tripod, but I may have to try it next time.
In case you couldn't see Jordan in the full pictures, he is in the top row, middle. I didn't have a very good seat to see him, he is usually more to the left and I can see him well, but this time he was in the middle.
It was a good concert but a long one. When you have three groups singing and three groups of bands, it gets a little long. Curt was nice enough to take the little ones when they got really antsy towards the end. I think Curt wanted to get out as well. :) Jordan didn't even want to go to the concert. I am almost begging him to go out for vocal next year (they actually have the option in Jr High to not go out for it). We never had the option, and with me loving singing and music, I would love for my kids to keep with it. He is going to try it for a year just for me and see where it goes. I really hope he likes it, here's hoping.

What's Up Y'Owl?
I had to post this right away to share this with you all. I love owls and so I was so ecstatic to have a whole family of them in my trees tonight. There was about five of them in all, but I only got pictures of three of them.
We were sitting out on the porch tonight when Curt kept seeing a huge bird fly back and forth from one tree to the next. And so we got more curious the more birds we keep seeing and ventured into the yard to see what it was and lo and behold a family of owls. It was the coolest ever. I think we were kind of freaking them out and all watching them and taking pictures that they never kept their eyes off of us.
Just had to share, I was so happy to get such great pictures of them, well, some of them.
